Here is all you need to know about the ESL R1 2023 Fall Major:
Back in September, the ESL R1 2023 Fall Season kicked off to an exciting start with its first four rounds, which saw exceptional performances from drivers such as G2 Esports’ Sebastian Job and MOUZ’s Maximilian Benecke. The drivers and their teams took the competition across a range of realistically rendered RENNSPORT tracks using Unreal Engine 5 to deliver the best virtual racing experience.
October saw another set of incredible races, as podium finishes were secured by drivers such as Jiri Toman of R8G eSports and Kevin Siggy from Team Redline. The season concluded with edge-of-your-seat performances in Round 7 and Round 8, as Jamie Fluke of Mercedes-AMG E-Sports Team ART and Joshua Rogers of Porsche Coanda Esports Racing Team both came first in their respective rounds.
The eight rounds leading up to the event have seen €12,500 of the prize pool awarded between the teams and drivers, as the top three in each round walked away with a share. A further €12,500 was also distributed as a Content Award. The ESL R1 2023 Fall Season also saw €100,000 awarded to the top six teams that overall performed best throughout all eight rounds.*
The remaining €100,000 is dedicated to the 12 best drivers of the ESL R1 2023 Fall Major – the culmination of months’ worth of thrilling races – as part of the Driver Championship. In a two-day live event, the top 24 best virtual racers of the season will be pit against one another to ultimately crown the Driver Champion.
All the points from the Regular Season will be transformed for the Fall Major. The formula for calculating driver points relative to the 1st place position involves dividing the driver's points by the 1st place points and multiplying the result by 100, adding another layer of excitement and strategy to the race. For drivers finishing 2nd to 24th, their points will be determined as a percentage of the first-place points. Along with the drivers’ performance across the 2023 Fall Major, a winner will be determined.
