Snapdragon Pro Series powered by Samsung Galaxy brings Mobile Masters to Sao Paulo, Brazil

Year 2 of the Global Mobile Esports Competition Culminates with Call of Duty®: Mobile and Garena Free Fire Showdowns and up to $400K USD in Prizing

Nov. 29, 2023 Cologne/New York/San DiegoESL FACEIT Group (EFG), the leading esports and video game entertainment company, and Qualcomm Technologies Inc. today announced the Snapdragon Pro Series Powered by Samsung Galaxy Year 2 Mobile Masters are coming to Sao Paulo, Brazil. Taking place April 12-14, players from around the world will compete in two of the most popular mobile game titles – Call of Duty: Mobile and Garena Free Fire – to claim their share of up to $400,000 USD in prizing.

“At the halfway point of the SPS Year 2, we’ve already seen nearly 50% more players and more than double the hours watched compared to Year 1. Mobile Masters is set to be the culmination of that growth trajectory, with the world’s best coming to our newest region,” said Sam Braithwaite, Vice President of Game Ecosystems, Mobile, Snapdragon Pro Series. “We’re excited to welcome fans from around the globe to Brazil as we crown new World Champions.”

Year 2 of the Snapdragon Pro Series has been the league’s largest to date, with the addition of the region Latin America and the expansion of its titles to include popular mobile games like Call of Duty: Mobile. The league has already attracted over 3 million total players and generated over 16.7 million hours watched of broadcasted events, surpassing Year 1’s totals with one season still to come.

Mobile Masters marks the Snapdragon Pro Series’ largest live event of the year, and presents the world’s best players to Brazilian fans, who primarily game on mobile platforms. Since Latin America joined the ecosystem in April, more than 1 million of the Snapdragon Pro Series’ total Year 2 participants are based in the region – a testament to the region’s blossoming gaming and esports landscape, which has grown 5 percent year-over-year.

Call of Duty: Mobile

After the Snapdragon Pro Series Mobile Challenge-level competition is completed in February 2024, eight Call of Duty: Mobile squads representing six regions will face off in Brazil for their share of up to $200,000 USD in prizing. For the first time, China’s top team will be taking part in a global Snapdragon Pro Series competition, bringing one of the world’s premier mobile gaming regions to the international stage. Competition begins April 12 with bracket play, with top squads returning for the finals on April 13.

The competition marks the apex of the first year of the Snapdragon Pro Series’ multi-year deal with Activision, which brought more than 2 million new participants into the ecosystem. Call of Duty: Mobile players took part in nearly 70 million matches played in the game across all levels of the Snapdragon Pro Series.

Garena Free Fire

Twelve top squads from Latin America and Asia-Pacific will be invited to participate in the first-ever Garena Free Fire Mobile Masters tournament, taking place April 13-14. Teams will battle over two days to hoist the first-ever Garena Free Fire Mobile Masters trophy and claim a slice of the up to $200,000 USD prize pool. Participating teams will be decided through Mobile Challenge-level competitions, including Brazil’s first-ever live Snapdragon Pro Series Mobile Challenge Finals happening in Sao Paulo from February 24-25. Twelve teams will compete for six coveted Mobile Masters spots as well as an up to $40,000 USD prize pool.
